Happy New Year.  As best I can tell this is another human holiday - and it is some kind of birthday for a new year or something.  Hey - It's our 4-month Birthday too.  Puppies aren't expected to know all of this - are they?  Anyway - it is a new year.  But nothing really special was going on.  Mom wasn't cooking anything different.  Our breakfast was the same as always.  I decided that this holiday isn't so special.  Still, life is good.  I am in a nice home with a good dad.  So I'm pretty happy.

Mom and dad were talking something about resolutions.  They talked about losing weight and about paying off somebody called debt.  Dad was complaining about somebody else called investments.  Whoever Investments is, he didn't do so good last year.  None of that matters to me as long as the dog food keeps coming.  Dad also said something about Dog Training starting soon.  Well - what have we been doing all this time?  Then they talked about exercise.  Mom said that walking the pups was good exercise.  Now, I don't understand this exercise stuff - but if it means walking us more I am all for it.  I think we should start right now.  And you know what... that's just what we did.  Mom and dad took me and Daisy for a nice walk.

When we got home dad got out that training bag thing again.  I like that bag - it smells like Uncle Parker.  It's a good smell, and I laid on he floor with my nose next to the training bag while dad cleaned it all up.  Don't wash it dad, I like it the way it is.  Dad emptied everything out on the floor.  There were some really neat toys in that pile of stuff.  There was also a lot of curious things that I didn't understand in the pile.  And dad opened up a little green bag.  Did it STINK!  Dad must have left those cookies in there since the last time Uncle Parker trained.  I wanted to eat it all up, but dad took it outside and threw it in the trash.  When he came back in he started fitting some collars on me.  He said we need to get ready.  Ready for what?  I don't know.  But if I get to do it with dad - whatever it is - I think I will like it.  All the stuff in the bag smelled like Uncle Parker and old cookies.

Mom made a human dinner, and dad thought it was something special.  Then mom made our doggie dinner.  Mom usually feeds us our breakfast.  But mostly dad feeds me my dinner.  I like it that dad feeds me.  He sits really close and talks to me while I eat.  I never feel frightened that dad will try to eat my dinner, and I like it when he talks to me.  It makes me happy.  After dinner I had a full belly and I got sleepy, so dad put me in bed.  It was another fine doggie-day.
