"DaParker"
is very special to us. His name should have been "Lucky"!
We almost lost him during the ear crop. When he was 9 weeks
old he caught Parvo. We almost lost him again. Then when he
was 4 month old he broke his tail and at 6 month we had it
amputated and neutered at the same time. At 7 month I taped
one of his ears to tight and "broke it" now it won't
stand up any more. When he was 1 year old, he cracked a tooth
and we had to pull it.
So
he did not make it into the conformation ring with me, but
he has been Mikes buddy and both of them have been competing
in the obedience ring, earned their CD (Companion dog) obedience
title, Rally Nocice title. Parker is also a certified therapy
assistance dog with Delta Society working as volunteers with
the "Paws for Love" group and as volenteers in the
Franklin Mountain State Park. The
Parker is the official Park Mascot of the Franklin Mountain
State Park and you can see him hiking and patrolling the trails
and giving tours.
